Academically, our students excel. We consistently score, on average, two to three percentage points higher on each and every category of the EXPLORE test than students in the surrounding township. (EXPLORE is the standardized assessment used to place students at Lyons Township High School.) Our curriculum, at grade-appropriate levels, includes religion/family life, reading, mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, Spanish, physical education, art, music, and enrichment programs.
We use the TerraNova testing program to assess the progress of our students compared to those across the country. The TerraNova program is a series of standardized achievement tests used in the United States to assess student achievement in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and other areas. As with the EXPLORE tests, our students excel. Click to see our 2014 results: SFX 2014 Terra Nova Results.
